Territory: Broad regional coverage across academic and life science research institutions
Overview
We are supporting a well-established international provider of scientific instrumentation in the search for a Product Sales Specialist.
This role sits within the life sciences research space and combines technical expertise with a consultative, commercially driven sales approach. It is less focused on traditional account management and more centred around solution-led selling and technical customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive direct sales of advanced scientific instrumentation within research and academic environments
- Deliver a consultative, technical sales process, understanding customer needs and aligning tailored solutions
- Build relationships with principal investigators, lab managers, and research stakeholders
- Conduct product demonstrations, technical discussions, and on-site presentations
- Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to closing
- Collaborate with internal teams (technical, service, marketing) to support customer projects
- Represent the business at scientific conferences, exhibitions, and industry events
- Maintain accurate pipeline management and reporting via CRM systems
Requirements
- Degree in Life Sciences, Physics, or a related scientific field
- Early experience in scientific sales, product specialist, or technical commercial roles, OR strong technical background with commercial interest
- Exposure to analytical instrumentation, imaging, or laboratory technologies is advantageous
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into customer-focused solutions
- Commercial mindset with a consultative sales approach
- Willingness to travel across a large regional territory
- German and English
