Key Account Manager - Hospital Procurement & GPO Strategy

An established and innovation-driven medical technology company is seeking a strategic Key Account Manager to lead engagement with hospital procurement organisations and purchasing alliances across Germany. This role is central to expanding access to a growing portfolio of urology consumables, with a focus on kidney stone and prostate management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for securing contracts, managing tenders, and building long-term partnerships with key procurement stakeholders. This position offers the opportunity to shape access strategy and influence purchasing decisions at a national level, with potential expansion into the broader DACH region.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement Engagement

  • Identify and build relationships with key purchasing organisations, including GPOs, hospital chains, and regional procurement groups
  • Lead contract negotiations, framework agreements, and tender submissions
  • Develop and implement access strategies aligned with commercial and marketing goals

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with sales, marketing, regulatory, finance, and legal teams to prepare value dossiers, pricing models, and documentation
  • Monitor market trends, policy changes, and reimbursement dynamics affecting hospital purchasing behaviour

Relationship Management & Value Communication

  • Promote the clinical and economic value of urology consumables to procurement stakeholders
  • Maintain long-term partnerships with buyers and decision-makers
  • Track performance metrics including contract success, revenue impact, and referral growth

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in healthcare, business administration, or related field
  • Proven success in contracting with GPOs, hospital alliances, or public procurement agencies
  • Strong understanding of the German reimbursement system (DRG, EBM, NUB)
  • Experience in value-based selling and strategic sales planning
  • Ability to communicate effectively with C-suite stakeholders
  • Knowledge of urology or stone management products is advantageous
  • Fluent in German and English; French is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
  • Valid Class B driving licence
