Freelance Engagement Strategist

EPM are partnered with a global healthcare communications agency, who are currently seeking a senior Pharmacy Strategy Consultant to support a high-impact healthcare engagement focused on obesity and chronic disease management.

This role requires a strategic, self-sufficient operator with strong experience across pharmacy ecosystems, capable of shaping and delivering pharmacy-led approaches within complex, global markets.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead pharmacy strategy development, aligned to broader commercial and patient engagement goals
  • Evaluate and optimize the consumer and pharmacist experience across different market settings
  • Map pharmacy archetypes and define prescribing/dispensing roles across key global markets
  • Embed pharmacy as a core stakeholder within end-to-end patient journey design, particularly in chronic disease pathways
  • Translate strategic insights into practical, market-relevant recommendations
  • Provide expertise on pharmacy commercialisation models and ecosystem dynamics

Experience & Profile

  • 5-10+ year's experience in healthcare strategy, pharmacy, or consulting environments
  • Background across consumer health, retail pharmacy, pharmacy strategy, patient support programs, or healthcare consulting
  • Proven ability to operate independently in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Strong strategic mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach
  • Prior experience in cardiometabolic disease areas and/or pharmacy commercialisation is highly relevant
  • Ability to clearly communicate insights and influence cross-functional stakeholders

Contract Details

  • Location: US-based preferred (Midwest ideal; aligned to East Coast working hours). Indianapolis office access available
  • Duration: 12 months
  • Commitment: 20-30 hours/week depending on project phase
