Firmware Engineer
We are currently working with a leading medical device company looking for a skilled Electronics & Firmware Engineer to join their team in Zurich. This is an exciting opportunity to build a long-term career in a highly innovative and regulated industry.
You will be responsible for:
- Acting as the subject matter expert for electronics, embedded systems, and firmware development in active implantable medical devices
- Managing the life cycle of electronic components from design to verification
- Drafting and implementing change requests in coordination with Regulatory and Manufacturing teams
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation in compliance with the company's quality management system
- Supporting Regulatory and Quality Affairs teams in technical matters
- Performing component verification and technical performance analyses
- Conducting root-cause analysis of returned products and non-conformities in production
- Managing internal and external resources within development projects
An ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years R&D experience in a highly regulated industry
- At least 3 years experience in medical device development
- Proficiency in digital and analog circuit design
- Skilled in CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout
- Experience or strong theoretical knowledge in analog/digital signal processing and circuit design
- Experience in firmware development and low-power, battery-operated embedded systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
- Highly organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
