Associate Director, Market Access Strategy

EPM Scientific is partnered with an organization on a high-impact Associate Director of U.S. Market Access Strategy search within a specialty neuropsychiatry portfolio. This is a high-visibility role reporting directly to the Director of U.S. Market Access Strategy, where you will play a key role in shaping and executing payer and reimbursement strategy to support successful commercialization and long-term product growth. The Associate Director will lead the development and execution of payer and reimbursement strategy, translating brand objectives into actionable access initiatives that support pricing, evidence generation, and channel strategy to ensure optimal patient access.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead U.S. market access strategy across both commercial and government payer channels, including support of launch and lifecycle initiatives
  • Develop and execute payer and reimbursement marketing strategies aligned to overall brand objectives
  • Shape payer value narratives and messaging in collaboration with HEOR, global value, and U.S. brand teams
  • Partner closely with account management and field reimbursement teams to identify needs and deliver effective tools, resources, and training
  • Design and implement engagement strategies for providers, payers, and key stakeholders across the healthcare system
  • Oversee the review and approval process for payer-facing materials, ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal standards
  • Manage external agency partners to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Lead planning processes for access and reimbursement initiatives, including annual strategic planning
  • Collaborate with analytics, marketing, and franchise leadership to track performance and refine execution strategies
  • Ensure alignment of access strategy across payer segments, including commercial plans, Medicare, Medicaid, and other government programs

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 6+ years in pharma, biotech, or consulting with market access or payer marketing experience
  • Strong knowledge of commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and specialty distribution channels
  • Exposure to pharmacy benefit and buy-and-bill reimbursement environments
  • Experience developing payer-facing tools, value messaging, and access materials
  • Strong executive presence and stakeholder influence
  • Experience with agency management and PRC review processes

Location: This role is based in Boston and requires 3 days a week presence on site
