Associate Director, Contracts and Pricing Strategy
About the Role
Our client is seeking an Associate Director of Pricing & Contracting Strategy to develop and lead pricing and contracting strategy for a growing nephrology product portfolio. This individual will serve as a key member of the U.S. Market Access organization and will play an integral role in preparing for the launch of a new nephrology asset with multiple indications.
The role requires deep expertise across payer and provider channels - including Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial -as well as experience with buy‑and‑bill markets and Part B/medical benefit products. The ideal candidate will design innovative contracting solutions, shape launch pricing strategy, and partner cross‑functionally to ensure alignment across the organization.
What You'll Do
- Develop payer and provider contracting strategies to support patient access for nephrology products
- Lead development of launch pricing strategy across multiple indications
- Build models to assess the impact of pricing and contracting scenarios across stakeholder groups and channels
- Independently manage projects from concept through execution
- Collaborate across U.S. cross‑functional teams-Insights & Analytics, Finance, Field Teams, Brand, and others-to drive alignment
- Partner with global access and policy teams to ensure cohesive strategy development
- Serve as a subject matter expert on contracting approaches for nephrology therapies
- Present strategic recommendations to senior leadership
Who You Are
You are a critical thinker who can clearly articulate complex contracting topics and thrive in a cross‑functional environment. You balance analytical rigor with strategic insight and can manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong relationships across teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- BA/BS required; advanced degree preferred
- 7+ years of experience in pharma, biotech, or consulting with a focus on pricing, contracting, or market access
- Ability to develop and communicate brand‑specific pricing and contracting strategies
- Strong understanding of U.S. government pricing dynamics (Medicaid, 340B, Medicare Parts B & D)
- Knowledge of buy‑and‑bill markets and medical benefit reimbursement
- Experience conducting primary payer and provider market research
- Familiarity with online survey tools and syndicated data sources
- Strong analytical, strategic, and critical‑thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex topics to senior leadership
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders
