Account Executive, Molecular Diagnostics
Position Summary
We are seeking a high-performing Account Executive to drive growth across a designated territory by developing new business opportunities and expanding existing customer relationships within the molecular diagnostics market. This field-based sales role is responsible for selling molecular and diagnostic solutions to healthcare organizations, including hospitals, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), reference laboratories, and women's health practices. The ideal candidate will be a strategic, consultative sales professional with a proven ability to influence complex buying decisions and consistently exceed performance objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive territory growth by identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities.
- Expand existing accounts through strategic account planning and relationship management.
- Engage with multiple stakeholders, including executive leadership, laboratory directors, clinicians, and procurement teams.
- Navigate complex sales cycles and accelerate decision-making within healthcare organizations.
- Develop and implement territory strategies to maximize market penetration and revenue growth.
- Leverage customer insights and market intelligence to uncover unmet needs and create value-driven solutions.
- Build long-term partnerships by understanding customer objectives and delivering consultative recommendations.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, clinical, operations, and customer support.
- Anticipate potential business challenges and proactively implement solutions to maintain sales momentum.
- Manage capital equipment and diagnostic sales opportunities through extended purchasing cycles.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline activity, and account information within CRM systems.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Proven success in diagnostic, laboratory, medical device, life science, or healthcare sales.
- Experience selling into hospitals, reference laboratories, health systems, IDNs, physician offices, or women's health clinics.
- Track record of achieving or exceeding sales quotas in a competitive market.
- Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new business while expanding existing accounts.

- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels, including C-suite leadership.

Preferred Background
- Molecular diagnostics, clinical laboratory, genomics, or precision medicine sales experience.
- Existing relationships within hospitals, laboratory networks, women's health practices, or integrated healthcare systems.
- Experience selling capital equipment, diagnostic platforms, testing services, or laboratory solutions.
- Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement, laboratory operations, and clinical workflow integration.
Territory
- Pacific Northwest region (Washington, Oregon, and surrounding markets, as assigned)
