Our client is a growing medical communications agency seeking a VP, Medical Director to provide scientific leadership across publications, medical affairs, congress strategy, and medical education initiatives. This is a highly visible leadership role for an experienced Medical Director who enjoys mentoring teams, partnering with clients, and shaping scientific strategy across multiple accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and scientific leadership across publications, medical affairs, congress activities, and medical education programs
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of medical writers.
- Oversee the quality and scientific integrity of client deliverables across multiple accounts.
- Develop and review keydeliverables including:
- Publication plans
- Manuscripts, abstracts, and posters
- Congress presentations
- Advisory board materials
- Medical education content
- Scientific platforms and messaging documents
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients.
- Partner closely with account services and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications
- PhD, PharmD, MD
- 8+ years of experience within a medical communications agency environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading both publications and medical affairs accounts
- Proven success managing scientific teams and mentoring medical writers.
- Experience supporting rare disease, specialty, or complex therapeutic area programs is desirable.
