Medical Information & Training Lead

An innovative late-stage biotechnology company preparing for the launch of a first-in-class therapy in a rare disease area is seeking a Medical Information & Training Lead to play a critical role in expanding its global Medical Affairs organization. This is a highly visible position that combines ownership of Medical Information strategy and operations with leadership of Medical Affairs training and launch readiness initiatives.
The Opportunity
This individual will build and lead the company's Medical Information function from the ground up while creating a world-class scientific training program for Medical Affairs teams. Working cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Compliance, Clinical Development, Patient Advocacy, and Commercial teams, you will help ensure medical excellence ahead of a major global product launch and support ongoing lifecycle management activities.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Information Leadership
- Establish and scale the global Medical Information infrastructure, including processes, vendor partnerships, quality frameworks, and operational systems.
- Oversee the development of scientific response materials, FAQs, medical content, and inquiry management processes.
- Ensure timely, compliant, and scientifically accurate responses to healthcare professional, patient, and payer inquiries across multiple communication channels.
- Generate insights from medical inquiries and trends to inform broader Medical Affairs strategy.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant medical, regulatory, and pharmacovigilance requirements.
Medical Affairs Training & Launch Readiness
- Design and deliver a global Medical Affairs training curriculum covering disease state education, clinical data, scientific storytelling, and field readiness.
- Lead onboarding, continuous learning, competency assessment, and certification programs for MSLs and other Medical Affairs professionals.
- Develop engaging learning experiences, including workshops, role-play exercises, e-learning modules, and in-person training events.
- Create measurable training outcomes and track performance through defined KPIs and competency frameworks.
- Support major scientific congresses and launch-related training initiatives.
Ideal Background
- Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, MSc, or equivalent).
- 7+ years of experience within Medical Information, Medical Communications, Medical Affairs Training, or related Medical Affairs functions in biotech or pharmaceuticals.
- Experience supporting product launches and building processes in emerging or growth-stage organizations is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, manage external vendors, and influence stakeholders across a matrixed environment.
- Strong scientific communication skills with the ability to translate complex clinical data into clear, actionable messages for diverse audiences.
