Sales Trainer | Specialty Pharmaceutical Company

Location: Remote (U.S.) | Eastern or Central Time Zone Preferred
Travel: Approximately 25%
Compensation: Base salary of $150,000-$170,000 plus annual bonus

Overview

A growing specialty pharmaceutical company seeking a Sales Trainer to support U.S. commercial teams. This individual will be responsible for onboarding new Sales Account Managers, delivering training programs, and helping field teams develop the product, disease-state, and customer engagement skills needed to support patients with rare and complex diseases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver disease-state, product, compliance, sales, and operational training.
  • Lead onboarding programs, workshops, certification activities, and field readiness assessments.
  • Develop training materials, job aids, assessments, and workshop content.
  • Translate complex clinical and scientific information into practical, customer-facing training.
  • Reinforce learning through ongoing coaching and development initiatives.
  • Utilize digital learning tools, AI applications, and learning platforms to improve training effectiveness.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Product teams to ensure training content remains accurate and aligned with business priorities.
  • Support national sales meetings, product launches, conferences, and virtual learning events.
  • Collaborate with global colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders on training initiatives.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Pharmaceutical sales background with demonstrated success in the field.
  • Experience designing, developing, and facilitating training programs for pharmaceutical or biotechnology sales teams.
  • At least 2 years of experience in training, coaching, or leadership roles.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand complex clinical topics and convert them into effective learning content.
  • Knowledge of instructional design, adult learning principles, compliance requirements, and specialty pharmaceutical sales environments.
  • Experience supporting rare disease and/or specialty pharmaceutical organizations preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Product launch or pre-launch training experience.
  • Field leadership or formal coaching experience.
  • Success working in a remote and cross-functional environment.
