Mechanical Engineer

What You'll Do:
- Drive mechanical design activities across all stages of development, producing technical drawings and specifications for electromechanical devices, jigs, and test fixtures.
- Perform root-cause analysis, hypothesis testing, and Design of Experiments to solve complex engineering challenges.
- Apply Design for Six Sigma tools to optimise product design and ensure statistically robust test data.
- Collaborate with Engineers, Technicians, and Operators during brainstorming sessions and hands-on testing.
- Plan and execute feasibility studies, prototype evaluations, and V&V testing, analysing data to guide decisions.
- Work cross-functionally with Electrical, Software, Systems, Test Engineering, Procurement, and Quality teams to meet technical, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Support risk management activities (e.g., FMEA), compliance with medical device standards, and ensure manufacturability and serviceability of designs.
- Partner with Operations and suppliers to define requirements, drive Design for Manufacturability, and achieve project milestones.
- Lead projects by creating plans, developing test strategies, and presenting results to stakeholders.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (e.g., Biomedical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing & Automation).
- 5-10+ years of relevant industry experience, including full product lifecycle in an R&D environment.
- Strong knowledge of international medical device standards (ISO 60601-1, EU MDR) is highly desirable.
- Expertise in 3D modeling and 2D drafting (SolidWorks essential).
- Skilled in assembly modeling and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Experience with statistical tools (e.g., Minitab) for data acquisition and analysis.
- Proven leadership experience mentoring junior engineers and managing technical teams.
