Key Account Manager - Mid Atlantic
The Key Account Manager will be responsible for promoting the company's Emergency Medicine portfolio for approved indications within an assigned territory. This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and differentiate the value of the company's products to various customer groups and decision-makers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve or exceed territory sales goals by developing and executing strategic plans aligned with the broader commercial brand strategy.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in hospitals, including surgeons, pharmacists, and other critical care staff.
- Create targeted, account-specific business plans based on a deep understanding of local market dynamics.
- Identify decision-makers within hospital accounts and develop strong professional relationships to gain support and drive product adoption.
- Work to ensure products are added to hospital formularies, EMR systems, protocols, and standing orders to support pull-through.
- Deliver compliant, accurate, and tailored sales presentations based on customer needs and perspectives.
- Organize and implement territory-specific programs to maximize sales opportunities (e.g., peer-to-peer initiatives).
- Provide clear guidance on the safe and effective use of products, including in-services for clinical staff in critical care settings.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and ensure timely documentation of customer interactions.
- Travel extensively within the territory (approximately 80% field time), including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Attend conferences, customer visits, and company meetings, requiring travel by car or plane.
- Comply with all hospital credentialing requirements and company policies, including code of conduct and vaccination/background check protocols.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical hospital IV product sales or account management, with 2-3 years in the designated geography.
- Proven ability to build relationships with pharmacists, emergency medicine professionals, and surgeons across multiple specialties.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze market drivers and adjust business plans accordingly.
- Strategic thinking and ability to develop dynamic customer engagement plans.
- Experience working in critical care environments and alongside clinical teams.
- Demonstrated success in navigating hospital pharmacy processes, including P&T committee approvals and formulary access.
- Familiarity with EMR and CPOE systems, and experience driving product inclusion in protocols and standing orders.
