HR Director

HR Director (Hands-on, Talent Acquisition Focus)

Life Sciences | South Holland, Netherlands | Permanent

A growing Life Sciences company is looking for a hands-on HR Director to lead HR across the business and support its continued growth.

Hiring will be a major focus of the position. You'll take ownership of recruitment directly, rather than managing a separate Talent Acquisition team, while also leading the wider HR function. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the business, working directly with leadership and taking a practical approach to building teams.

What you'll do

  • Lead the HR function and act as the main HR partner to the leadership team.
  • Take ownership of recruitment from start to finish, including briefing, sourcing, interviewing and offers.
  • Proactively source candidates through LinkedIn, your network and referrals.
  • Partner with leaders to understand hiring needs and support team growth.
  • Help attract and secure strong talent across different functions and levels.
  • Manage onboarding and help ensure new employees have a positive start with the business.
  • Support employee relations, HR policies and day-to-day people matters.
  • Develop and improve HR and recruitment processes as the company continues to grow.
  • Work closely with leadership on broader people and organisational priorities.
  • Balance strategic HR responsibilities with the hands-on needs of a growing organisation.

What you'll bring

  • Strong generalist HR experience, including experience in a senior or lead HR position.
  • Significant hands-on recruitment or Talent Acquisition experience.
  • Experience sourcing and engaging candidates directly, rather than only managing external agencies or a TA team.
  • A practical, hands-on approach and a willingness to manage recruitment yourself.
  • Confidence working closely with senior leaders and advising on people-related matters.
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of the HR function.
  • Experience working in a growing, changing or fast-paced organisation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Life Sciences experience is a plus, but not essential.
