The Opportunity
The organization is currently recruiting a Capital Equipment Service Engineer (UK) to manage the installation, maintenance, and support of electrophysiology (EP) systems used in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. This role supports the company's mission to enhance patient care by ensuring that critical medical equipment functions reliably and efficiently in clinical settings.
Role Overview
The Capital Equipment Service Engineer will be responsible for a range of technical services related to complex capital equipment, including system installation, repair, calibration, upgrades, and preventative maintenance. The role requires frequent collaboration with internal teams such as central dispatch, sales, and clinical support to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Occasional international travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities
System Support: Conduct hardware and software field interventions including installation, maintenance, upgrades, calibration, troubleshooting, and repairs. Ensure readiness of demo systems for use at medical congresses and internal events.
Service Scheduling: Coordinate with internal scheduling teams and regional clinical/sales staff to plan and execute timely service activities.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and complete records of all service interventions and equipment issues in accordance with internal quality and regulatory procedures.
Technical Assistance: Provide on-site technical support during customer training events and conferences as needed.
Training Delivery: Deliver basic system maintenance and troubleshooting training to customer biomedical departments and internal staff.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Previous experience in the servicing of medical electronics or a related technical field.
Strong diagnostic skills in both electronic and mechanical systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Windows operating systems.
Ability to safely handle and lift equipment up to 25kg during installations.
Familiarity with operating room and Cathlab protocols is an advantage.
Experience working with software-based medical devices is preferred.
