Business Development Manager - Licensing

Salary: 105k + Bonus

A rapidly growing biotechnology company is looking to hire a Business Development Manager to support the expansion of its innovative antibody discovery and development portfolio. This is a growth hire due to continued pipeline advancement and increased partnering activity across multiple therapeutic areas.

This individual will operate at the intersection of science and business, working closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic licensing and partnering opportunities. The role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge antibody technologies while helping shape the long-term growth strategy of a highly innovative biotechnology organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish external business opportunities for out-licensing, co-development, and other strategic transactions.
  • Lead the evaluation and presentation of external opportunities, including business cases, risk assessments, and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Drive partnership discussions and business development activities with minimal supervision.
  • Lead cross-functional due diligence efforts across R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, CMC, Operations, and Finance.
  • Support licensing transactions, negotiations, deal execution, alliance management, and partnership governance.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of business development and licensing strategy.
  • Represent the company at industry, investor, and partnering conferences.
  • Build and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners.
  • Monitor industry trends and identify potential strategic partnership opportunities.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Pharmacology, Immunology, Cancer Biology, or a related biomedical science field.
  • Strong background in antibody drug discovery with experience in target validation and hit-to-lead optimization.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex biological data, including affinity, specificity, and in vivo efficacy.
  • Experience translating scientific findings into compelling therapeutic and licensing narratives.
  • Familiarity with antibody modalities including monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), bispecific antibodies, and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to align internal platform capabilities with pharmaceutical partner needs.
