Bioprocess Engineer
We are currently seeking for a Bio-process Engineer for one of our Global Bio-Pharmaceutical client in Switzerland.
As a Manufacturing Scientist / Process Expert, you will be responsible for the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of manufacturing operations in microbial fermentation. You will ensure compliant batch execution, support capital projects, and act as a key interface between production, engineering, and quality.
- Key Responsibilities
- Plan, oversee, and support execution of manufacturing campaigns in microbial fermentation.
- Perform manufacturing activities in accordance with cGMP guidelines, ensuring high-quality batch execution.
- Evaluate process data, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and implement effective solutions
- Prepare and review production documentation, including electronic batch records (EBR).
Review production records and manage deviations, change requests, and CAPAs.
Ensure compliance with GMP standards across all manufacturing activities. - Conduct and execute SHE, environmental, operational, and cleaning risk assessments.
Implement defined mitigation measures and ensure their ongoing effectiveness - Prepare, review and update DeltaV recipes for equipment and facility systems.
Support and coordinate MES / automation-related activities (where applicable).
Work closely with engineering during campaign preparation and change-over activities - Act as a production SME within CAPEX projects, contributing to building and commissioning of manufacturing units.
Provide input for equipment, facility design, commissioning and qualification (CQV) - Lead and contribute to innovation and improvement projects across manufacturing processes.
Optimise production processes and enhance plant performance and efficiency
Key Requirements
- MSc OR Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Background in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, or Biotechnical Engineering
- Hands-on experience in microbial fermentation environments preferred Strong GMP knowledge and experience in regulated manufacturing environments
- Solid understanding of biotechnological processes
- Experience with MES systems is a strong advantage
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions
- Structured, organised, and solution-oriented working style
- High level of motivation, flexibility, and openness to innovation
