Role Summary

The Associate Director, Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) will be responsible for developing and executing engagement strategies with national, regional, and emerging thought leaders across rare neurological diseases.

Reporting to the Director of TLLs, Neurology, this individual will manage strategic relationships with thought leaders and gather actionable field insights to help inform brand strategy, education, and launch planning.

Primary Responsibilities

Thought Leader Strategy & Engagement

  • Develop and execute engagement plans for national, regional, and emerging thought leaders.
  • Build relationships with neurologists, neuromuscular specialists, rehabilitation physicians, genetic specialists, and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Identify influential experts, Centers of Excellence, advocacy leaders, and investigators.
  • Maintain an understanding of thought leaders' clinical interests, research activities, networks, and educational needs.

Insight Generation

  • Gather and communicate customer insights to inform brand strategy, messaging, evidence generation, and launch planning.
  • Identify trends in diagnosis, treatment patterns, referral pathways, and unmet needs.
  • Translate field insights into recommendations for Commercial Leadership.

Advisory Boards & Expert Consultation

  • Lead planning and execution of commercial advisory boards.
  • Identify and recruit appropriate advisors.
  • Partner with Marketing and Medical Affairs on compliant objectives and discussion guides.
  • Summarize insights and recommendations for cross-functional teams.

Speaker Bureau Leadership

  • Recruit, develop, and maintain a physician speaker bureau.
  • Coordinate speaker onboarding, training, and ongoing development.
  • Evaluate speaker effectiveness.
  • Partner with vendors to execute educational programs.

Congress Strategy

  • Develop engagement plans for major neurology congresses.
  • Coordinate thought leader meetings around scientific meetings.
  • Capture competitive intelligence and customer insights.
  • Support executive leadership engagement with key experts.

Launch Readiness

Support launch activities by:

  • Identifying educational gaps within the healthcare community.
  • Assessing market dynamics.
  • Informing disease education initiatives.
  • Supporting peer-to-peer educational strategies.
  • Supporting customer segmentation and influence mapping.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree such as an MBA, PharmD, PhD, MSN, or MS preferred.
  • 7+ years of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry experience.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Thought Leader Liaison, Product Marketing, Specialty Sales, Medical Affairs leadership, or Commercial field leadership.
  • Experience in rare disease, specialty pharmaceuticals, and/or neurology.
  • Strong understanding of commercial compliance and promotional regulations.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience building strategic relationships with senior healthcare stakeholders.

Location & Travel

  • Remote, West Region
  • Approximately 60-70% travel
  • Occasional travel to the company's U.S. headquarters for workshops and strategy meetings.
  • Candidates must be based in Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, or South Dakota.

Compensation

Base salary: $190,000-$225,000, plus eligibility for short-term and long-term incentive programs and a comprehensive benefits package.
