Associate Director - Market Access & Payer Insights

Location: Cambridge, MA (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)

Associate Director, Payer Insights - Nephrology
The Associate Director, Payer Insights will build a best‑in‑class Access Insights capability to support an upcoming launch in a new therapeutic area for the organization. This highly strategic role will shape U.S. payer understanding, guide pricing and contracting thinking, influence launch planning, and serve as a front‑facing partner to commercial, medical, and executive teams. You will think holistically about the access landscape, create clarity in an area with significant unknowns, and drive insight generation that directly informs go‑to‑market strategy.
Key Responsibilities
  • Build a comprehensive Access Insights capability to support an upcoming specialty immunology launch, shaping U.S. payer understanding, pricing thinking, and value strategy.
  • Conduct targeted payer research to identify key payers, their decision drivers, unmet needs, and implications for contracting, access, and patient affordability.
  • Assess physician economics and buy‑and‑bill dynamics, translating insights into recommendations that inform adoption strategy and customer engagement.
  • Evaluate patient journey complexities, including coverage transitions and barriers impacting access, and identify U.S. insight gaps requiring further research.
  • Partner closely with commercial insights, analytics, account management, and global teams to develop shared data assets and coordinated launch analytics.
  • Deliver clear, insight‑driven recommendations to senior leadership and cross‑functional executives to guide launch and market access strategy.
Core Qualifications
  • U.S. Market Access experience with payers, reimbursement, or access strategy.
  • Strong analytics foundation - able to design and guide analyses, structure research, and oversee consultants
  • Buy‑and‑bill experience within provider‑administered specialty products.
  • Direct launch experience (not solely in‑line) in pharma/biotech.
  • Minimum 7 years in pharma, biotech, or management consulting with relevant exposure
Preferred Experience
  • Background in immunology, nephrology, or related specialty therapeutic areas.
  • Familiarity with patient access and affordability dynamics for complex specialty populations.
  • MBA or advanced degree.
