About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Account Manager - Specialty Chemicals to join a growing commercial team focused on the Northeast US region. This remote-based position will be responsible for driving business growth, developing strategic customer relationships, and expanding market share across a portfolio of specialty chemical products serving industrial markets.
The successful candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with a consultative sales approach, identifying new opportunities while managing and growing existing customer accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage sales performance and budget targets across the assigned Northeast US territory.
- Drive revenue growth through proactive business development, prospecting, and acquisition of new customers.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to expand business within existing customer relationships.
- Maintain accurate customer records, opportunity pipelines, forecasts, and activity reports within CRM systems.
- Lead all commercial discussions including pricing negotiations, supply agreements, demand forecasting, and contract management.
- Conduct regular customer visits and virtual meetings to strengthen relationships and identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with technical, marketing, and supplier partners to deliver value-added solutions to customers.
- Monitor market developments, competitor activity, industry trends, and emerging technologies within specialty chemicals.
- Identify new applications and market opportunities across key industrial segments.
- Support product launches, supplier initiatives, and strategic growth projects within the territory.
Requirements
- Proven sales or business development experience within the specialty chemicals industry.
- Strong track record of developing new business and exceeding commercial targets.
- Experience selling chemical raw materials, additives, ingredients, or performance materials into industrial markets.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive and results-driven approach.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify market opportunities.
- Self-motivated professional capable of working independently in a remote environment.
- Highly collaborative team player with strong organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel throughout the Northeast US territory as required.
