A leading international chemical distribution and trading organisation is seeking a Product Manager to join its European Industrial Chemicals team. This position offers the opportunity to work within a highly international environment, managing strategic product portfolios and driving commercial growth across Europe. Based in office 3 days-per-week (Tuesday-Thursday).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute product and market strategies for a portfolio of industrial chemicals (ICS or VAM), including both speciality products and commodity chemicals sourced from global suppliers.
  • Identify and evaluate market trends, customer requirements, and new business opportunities to expand product lines and increase revenue.
  • Manage purchasing and sales activities, including pricing, margin management, forecasting, and commercial performance monitoring.
  • Work closely with regional sales teams to support key accounts and develop strategic customer relationships across Europe.
  • Serve as a key link between customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and value creation throughout the supply chain.
  • Provide market intelligence, competitive analysis, and product insights to support budgeting, business planning, and strategic decision-making.
  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives, including projects related to decarbonisation, circular economy solutions, and bio-based materials.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in product management, procurement, trading, business development, sales, or marketing within the chemical industry.
  • Strong understanding of commercial negotiations, contract management, and portfolio risk assessment.
  • Commercially minded with an entrepreneurial approach to identifying and developing growth opportunities.
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both internal and external partners.
  • Proven experience managing or commercialising bulk chemicals, with a strong understanding of bulk chemical handling, logistics, storage, and distribution.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, international environment and adapting to changing market conditions.
  • Team-oriented, self-motivated, and resilient, with strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Professional fluency in English is required; additional European languages are advantageous.
  • Experience with CRM, ERP, and business management systems such as Salesforce, SAP, and Microsoft Office is beneficial.
