Senior Expert Master Data Management
Position Overview
On behalf of a global, regulated pharmaceutical organisation, we are supporting the search for an experienced Product and Engineering Data professional. The role focuses on SAP and PLM data architecture, governance, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure high-quality, compliant, and scalable product data across international operations.
Requirements
- Technical degree (Bachelor level or equivalent qualification)
- Solid understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Product Data Management (PDM), and related processes
- Experience with SAP PLM, SAP ECTR, SAP MM/PP, or comparable systems and modules
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Modelling, Data Governance, or similar roles, preferably on the business or functional side of product data management
- In-depth knowledge of data structures, data modelling methodologies, and integration concepts
- Familiarity with global regulatory and compliance requirements related to product data, technical documentation, and technical change processes within a regulated (pharmaceutical) environment
- Experience supporting system implementations, migrations, or harmonisation projects
Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining data architecture for SAP and PLM systems in close collaboration with central IT, ensuring consistency, scalability, and alignment with business requirements
- Designing, managing, and optimising data models, including material master data, bills of materials (BOM), document objects, and change management structures
- Ensuring data integrity, process compliance, and harmonisation across systems and business units
- Working closely with Development, Global Supply Chain, Production, Quality, and IT functions to define and implement data standards and lifecycle rules
- Supporting and guiding global teams on best practices in product and engineering data management
- Leading or contributing to process optimisation initiatives (e.g. digital continuity, technical change workflows, classification systems)
- Evaluating and coordinating system enhancements, integrations, and migration requirements
