Freelance Supply Chain Planner

Role Overview:

The Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for ensuring optimal inventory levels, accurate demand forecasting, and efficient supply planning to support business objectives. This role requires strong analytical skills, ERP expertise, and the ability to collaborate across procurement, logistics, and commercial teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, and promotional plans.
  • Create and manage supply plans to ensure product availability while minimising excess inventory.
  • Monitor inventory levels, stock movements, and replenishment cycles.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to align supply chain activities with business goals.
  • Analyse forecast accuracy and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processes and monthly planning meetings.
  • Manage ERP system updates (SAP or similar) for planning parameters and master data.
  • Provide regular reporting on KPIs such as service level, inventory turns, and forecast accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in supply chain planning within consumer goods or FMCG.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP APO, IBP, or similar), advanced Excel, and forecasting tools.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Languages: Fluent in English; Italian is a plus.
  • Work Style: Ability to work independently and manage hybrid schedule effectively.

  • Type: Freelance
  • Duration: 12 months (with potential extension)
  • Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Location: Hybrid - Rome (3 days onsite, 2 days remotely)
  • Start Date: January 2026
