Overview
We are supporting a a global engineering and advanced manufacturing organisation in the Greater Grand Rapids area,vto hire an Electrical Engineer to support ongoing product sustainment and lifecycle engineering activities.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role, ideal for an engineer experienced in working on existing hardware platforms, contributing to design updates, issue resolution, and component evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support electrical engineering activities across existing product lines
- Perform analog and digital circuit design improvements
- Contribute to PCB design, updates, and modifications
- Conduct component evaluation and selection for design changes
- Investigate and resolve product issues and performance concerns
- Support design changes and engineering updates across active products
- Work collaboratively across cross-functional teams (R&D, test, quality, manufacturing)
- Contribute to continuous product improvement and reliability efforts
Role Scope
- Focus on sustainment / lifecycle engineering
- Hands-on execution within an established engineering team
- Supporting ongoing programmes rather than leading major new initiatives
Team Environment
- Small, collaborative team (~5 engineers)
- Works closely with broader development and adjacent engineering teams
- High focus on delivery continuity and reliability
Required Experience
- 3-5 years' experience in Electrical Engineering
- Strong experience with:
- Analog circuit design
- Digital circuit design
- PCB design and layout
- Experience working on hardware systems in a production or post-development environment
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve real-world engineering issues
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Preferred Experience
- Experience within:
- Regulated industries (e.g. healthcare, pharma, automotive, aerospace)
- Exposure to:
- Product sustainment or lifecycle engineering
- Design changes / engineering change processes
Start Date
- Target start: Within 3-4 weeks
