Commercial Sales Director
The Sales Director drives top-line revenue growth by leading new business acquisition, expanding strategic partnerships, and executing the sales strategy for the blood/plasma business unit. This role oversees a team of Strategic Account Managers and collaborates cross-functionally to align with business goals, customer needs, and market dynamics. Reporting to the VP General Manager, the ideal candidate is a visionary leader with deep sales expertise, executive presence, and a track record of building high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to meet revenue, profitability, and market share targets.
- Lead and mentor Strategic Account Managers to foster strong customer relationships and identify growth opportunities.
- Analyze market data to inform strategic decisions and support commercial initiatives.
- Own sales performance for strategic accounts, monitor KPIs, and provide accurate forecasts.
- Drive pipeline efficiency and improve conversion rates across all sales stages.
- Engage with executive-level customers, lead strategic negotiations, and represent the business at key events.
- Collaborate with marketing, R&D, finance, and operations to ensure customer-centric execution.
- Influence product development through market insights and customer feedback.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years in sales leadership within biotech or life sciences.
- Strong sales, operational, and leadership skills with a focus on continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
- Significant experience in blood management, diagnostics, or plasma sales
- Familiar with call points including plasma donation centers and blood centers
