EPM Scientific are partnered with a leading provider of advanced analytical instrumentation, specialising in Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LCMS) solutions. Their technologies support critical applications in biopharma, clinical diagnostics, environmental analysis, and academic research. As the company expand their European footprint, they are seeking a commercially driven and strategically minded Business Development Director to lead growth initiatives in the biopharma sector.

Role Overview
This is a high-impact role requiring a strategic approach to market development and opportunity creation. You will be responsible for driving LCMS sales across Europe, with a strong focus on the biopharmaceutical market. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of market dynamics, a sharp analytical mindset, and the commercial acumen to identify and convert opportunities into long-term business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan focused on expanding LCMS adoption in the biopharma market
  • Lead market development initiatives to penetrate new segments and geographies
  • Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify emerging trends, unmet needs, and competitive dynamics
  • Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers in pharmaceutical, biotech, and CRO organisations
  • Collaborate with technical and product teams to deliver compelling demonstrations and proposals
  • Identify and qualify new leads, manage the sales pipeline, and convert opportunities into long-term partnerships
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows across Europe
  • Provide regular reporting on market insights, sales performance, and strategic initiatives

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or related field
  • Proven experience in business development or technical sales within the LCMS or analytical instrumentation space
  • Strong understanding of biopharma and pharma workflows and regulatory environments
  • Demonstrated ability in market development and strategic planning
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform market analysis and translate insights into actionable strategies
  • Commercially driven with excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel across Europe (up to 40%)
