We are partnering on a confidential basis with a fast-growing medical technology business in Barcelona to appoint a Head of Finance / CFO. This is a newly confidential search for a hands-on finance leader who will own the full finance function for a c.54-person organisation and act as a genuine strategic partner to the CEO and Board.
The role
- Full ownership of all financial activity across the business, leading and developing a small team (Accounting Technician and Administrative support).
- Run the day-to-day operational finance function - reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, controls, audit and compliance.
- Act as strategic advisor to the CEO, shaping the financial roadmap of the company.
- Lead preparation and delivery of Board-level reporting and presentations.
- Play a central role in an upcoming funding round, supporting investor engagement, due diligence and financial modelling.
What we're looking for
- 15-20 years' finance experience, including time as Head of Finance, Finance Director, Finance Manager or CFO in an SME environment.
- Medical device or wider life sciences background is ideal, though strong candidates from other technical, regulated or product-led industries will be considered.
- Genuinely hands-on - comfortable operating at both strategic and transactional level in a lean team.
- Experience supporting or leading fundraising, investor relations or corporate finance processes is highly advantageous.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential.
