Senior Technical Business Development Manager - Reversible Adhesive Technologies (Europe)

Overview:
A global leader in advanced adhesive solutions is seeking a Senior Technical Business Development Manager to lead innovation in reversible bonding technologies. This role focuses on developing and commercializing dynamic polymer systems and shape/phase-changing materials that enable controlled adhesion and debonding-supporting circular design, repairability, and recyclability across industries such as automotive, electronics, and consumer goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the exploration and validation of early-stage technologies with reversible bonding capabilities
  • Conduct market analysis and build proof-of-concept business cases
  • Develop MVPs in collaboration with R&D and external partners
  • Define commercialization strategies and manage strategic partnerships
  • Scale validated technologies into core business or spin-off ventures
  • Maintain a robust innovation pipeline and mentor team members

Candidate Profile:

  • PhD in Polymer Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field
  • Experience in open innovation, technology scouting, and strategic partnerships
  • Proven track record in developing early-stage technologies and business models
  • Strong understanding of polymer physics and reversible bonding mechanisms
  • Fluent in English; excellent communication and project management skills
  • Willingness to travel across Europe
