About the Role

A leading, high-growth medical communications agency is seeking a Senior Medical Writer to join its scientific services team. This individual will play a key role in developing high-quality scientific content across publications and medical affairs, partnering closely with internal teams, clients, and external experts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of high-quality scientific deliverables, including:
    • Manuscripts, abstracts, posters
    • Slide decks and congress materials
    • Medical affairs and scientific communications content
  • Interpret and synthesize complex clinical and scientific data into clear, accurate messaging
  • Collaborate with clients, internal stakeholders, and external authors to ensure alignment with publication strategy and project objectives
  • Ensure all materials adhere to journal guidelines, regulatory standards, and internal quality expectations
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines and budgets are met
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback and revisions efficiently while maintaining scientific integrity
  • Build and maintain expertise in assigned therapeutic areas, including key data and competitive landscape
  • Support and mentor junior writers, as appropriate

Qualifications

  • PhD in a life sciences discipline required
  • ~3 years of experience in medical writing within a medical communications agency
  • Demonstrated experience in publications (manuscripts, abstracts, posters) required
  • Exposure to medical affairs deliverables
  • Strong understanding of clinical research, data interpretation, and scientific storytelling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively
