We're seeking a curious, independent, and driven Research Scientist to help launch a brand-new research program focused on lipedema and fat disorders. This is a rare opportunity to build a lab from the ground up, shape the scientific direction of a growing clinical institute, and work alongside one of the most respected endocrinologists in the world-a leader whose work has helped define the field of lipedema research and care.
You'll be joining a team that's not only deeply collaborative but also committed to advancing science that directly improves patient outcomes. From day one, you'll have access to clinical samples, institutional collaborators, and the infrastructure needed to make meaningful discoveries.
What You'll Do
- Design and lead original research studies on fat disorders
- Collect and analyze tissue samples; establish a biorepository
- Set up and manage a new lab space in a state-of-the-art facility
- Collaborate with external institutions for assays and data sharing
- Contribute to publications, protocols, and diagnostic tools
- Help define the research roadmap and mentor junior team members
What You Bring
- PhD in a biomedical field (e.g., endocrinology, physiology, molecular biology)
- 2+ years of postdoctoral research experience in academia
- Experience with tissue handling, lab setup, or biobanking
- A self-starter mindset and a passion for discovery
- Willingness to be fully on-site in Beverly Hills (with onboarding in Arizona)
