Our client, a highly respected leader in the medical equipment manufacturing sector, is offering an opportunity to join their team in Munich, Germany. This exciting 12-month freelance role invites you to contribute to pioneering projects that push the boundaries of medical technology.
About the Role:
In this role as a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of designing and prototyping advanced medical equipment, including MedTech robots and surgical instruments. You will work on-site in Munich, collaborating closely with a team of experienced professionals who share your passion for innovation. Your role will involve taking concepts from the initial idea stage to finalised designs, ensuring they adhere to the quality standards required.
Key Skills and Expertise:
- CAD Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in using advanced CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo to create precise designs and technical drawings.
- 3D Modelling: Extensive experience in generating accurate and detailed 3D models to visualise complex mechanical systems and components. Your skills in this area will play a vital role in developing innovative medical devices.
- Plastic Injection Molding: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with designing parts and components tailored for plastic injection molding processes, ensuring both functionality and manufacturability.
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Proficiency in performing stress testing, thermal analysis, and optimizations using FEA tools, to ensure the structural integrity and performance of your designs under different conditions.
- Medical Device Standards: Familiarity with ISO 13485 and other relevant standards, along with a proven track record of working in regulated environments, will be essential for maintaining compliance and ensuring quality throughout the development process.
- Prototyping & Validation: Strong capability in building functional prototypes, conducting rigorous testing, and refining designs to meet performance criteria. Your contributions will be integral to transforming ideas into market-ready medical devices.
- 3D Printing: Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping using 3D printing technologies, enabling fast iteration and efficient evaluation of design concepts during the development cycle.
