IT Industrial Engineer (AVEVA - MES) - Lyon

We are looking for a French‑speaking Industrial IT Engineer with strong hands‑on experience in AVEVA/Wonderware and MES systems to join a long‑term digital manufacturing project in France. This is a 12‑month contract to start, with extensions expected based on project roadmap and performance.

Role Overview

This position is focused on developing, configuring, and implementing industrial IT applications-primarily AVEVA System Platform and MES-within a live production environment. It is a technical developer/implementer role, not a project manager position.

The initial phases of the project require a mostly on‑site presence to collaborate closely with production, automation, and IT teams. Hybrid flexibility may be possible later once systems are stabilised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, configure, and deploy AVEVA / Wonderware applications (System Platform, MES, Historian).
  • Implement MES functionalities, workflows, and integrations with shop‑floor systems.
  • Collaborate with OT, automation, and IT stakeholders to ensure seamless system connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot, optimise, and support industrial IT applications in a production environment.
  • Contribute to documentation, testing, and validation activities as needed.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Industrial IT, OT/IT, MES, or SCADA engineering roles.
  • Proven hands‑on experience with AVEVA / Wonderware platforms.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial information systems.
  • Ability to work on site in France during the early stages of the project.
  • Fluent French speaker (mandatory).
  • Professional proficiency in English is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in pharmaceutical or biotech environments (GMP, GAMP5, validation exposure).
  • Knowledge of industrial networks, PLC connectivity, or SCADA architectures.
  • Familiarity with regulated manufacturing environments.

Contract Details

  • 12‑month initial contract, long‑term project with likely extensions.
  • On‑site presence required at the start.
  • Competitive daily rate based on experience.
