Director, Client Services (Business Development - Clinical Development & CRO Services)

We are seeking a Director, Client Services with a strong focus on sales and business development to drive growth across our clinical development and CRO services portfolio. This individual will play a pivotal role in expanding partnerships with mid-size biotech companies, acting as both a strategic advisor and revenue driver.
This is an ideal opportunity for a commercially minded leader who understands the clinical development lifecycle and thrives in a consultative, relationship-driven sales environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business development efforts across clinical development and CRO service offerings, with a focus on mid-size and emerging biotech clients
- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities, owning the full sales lifecycle from prospecting through close
- Build and nurture senior-level relationships (Clinical, Medical, R&D, and Procurement stakeholders) to position the organization as a strategic partner
- Develop tailored proposals, capabilities presentations, and RFP responses aligned to client clinical and operational needs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical operations, regulatory, biometrics, and medical teams to scope solutions and ensure seamless delivery
- Drive revenue growth against defined targets, maintaining accurate pipeline forecasting and sales reporting
- Expand existing client accounts through strategic upselling and cross-selling across the CRO and clinical services portfolio
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, partnering meetings, and networking events to build brand presence and generate leads
Qualifications
- 8-12+ years of experience within CRO, clinical development, or life sciences services, with a strong emphasis on business development
- Demonstrated success selling clinical trial services, FSP models, or outsourced development solutions to biotech companies
- Deep understanding of the clinical development lifecycle, including Phase I-IV trials and associated service needs
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales quotas and manage complex deal cycles
- Strong network within the mid-size biotech ecosystem
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working in a remote, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environment
