About the Role:

We are seeking a strategic and commercially driven Chief Business Officer to lead business growth and partnership development for a leading organisation in the large molecule and analytical services market. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CBO will be responsible for shaping and executing the company's commercial strategy, driving revenue expansion, and building strategic alliances that accelerate innovation and market penetration. This role requires a proven leader with deep expertise in large molecules and a strong track record of scaling businesses in competitive markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Growth: Define and implement the company's commercial road map, aligning with corporate objectives and investor expectations.
  • Business Development: Identify and secure strategic partnerships, licensing deals, and collaborations to expand service offerings and client base.
  • Market Expansion: Drive entry into new geographies and service verticals within the biologics and analytical space.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key biopharma clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and long-term partnerships.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with R&D, operations, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of commercial initiatives.
  • Team Leadership: Develop and mentor a high-performing commercial team, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant scientific or business discipline (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in commercial leadership roles within biologics, analytical services within CDMO or CRO sectors.
  • Proven track record in strategic partnerships, licensing, and revenue growth in large molecule markets.
  • Strong understanding of analytical development, CMC, and regulatory requirements for biologics, Cell and gene therapies (CGT) or CMC.
  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are advantageous.
