IT/OT Automation & BAS Engineer - Munich, Germany
We are seeking an experienced IT/OT Automation & BAS Engineer to support automation, building automation systems (BAS), HVAC controls and supporting OT/IT infrastructure within a GMP manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Automation/Digital Lead, this is a hands-on, site-based role focused on commissioning, startup and system integration activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support BAS, HVAC and utility automation commissioning and startup activities.
- Coordinate vendors, system integrators and project stakeholders during project execution.
- Support FAT, SAT, IQ and OQ activities.
- Assist with installation, configuration and troubleshooting of PLC, HMI and SCADA systems.
- Support OT/IT infrastructure including Windows Servers, VMware environments and industrial networks.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, CSV, Data Integrity and validation requirements.
- Act as the on-site point of contact during installation and go-live phases.
Requirements
- 10+ years' experience within pharmaceutical, biotech or GMP-regulated environments.
- Strong background in automation, BAS/BMS, HVAC controls or utility automation systems.
- Experience supporting commissioning, startup, qualification and system turnover activities.
- Knowledge of PLC, HMI and SCADA platforms.
- Experience with OT/IT infrastructure, Windows Server, VMware and industrial networks.
- Familiarity with EMS, BAS, Historian or MES integrations is advantageous.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and vendor coordination skills.
- Fluent English required; German beneficial.
