About the Role
The Associate Director, Trade & Distribution Strategy is responsible for designing, implementing, and evolving U.S. distribution strategies across a portfolio of specialty and nephrology-focused products. This role plays a key part in supporting upcoming launches and optimizing lifecycle performance within complex and highly regulated channel environments.
This individual will lead strategic planning across diverse distribution models, ensuring compliant, efficient, and patient-centric access across multiple sites of care including hospital outpatient, infusion, transplant, and dialysis-adjacent settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert on U.S. pharmaceutical distribution channels, supply chain dynamics, and evolving regulatory/policy considerations
- Lead development and execution of distribution strategies for specialty and nephrology products, with strong focus on medical- and pharmacy-benefit pathways
- Design and optimize channel strategies across hospital, specialty pharmacy, and retail settings, accounting for payer mix (Medicare, Commercial, Medicaid)
- Evaluate and incorporate channel economics, reimbursement dynamics, and site-of-care considerations into strategic decision-making
- Partner cross-functionally with Market Access, Brand, Trade, Data, Legal, Compliance, and Operations to ensure aligned and executable strategies
- Support commercialization planning, including forecasting, gross-to-net considerations, and operational readiness for launch
- Continuously assess and evolve distribution models in response to regulatory changes, competitive landscape, and pipeline progression
- Develop distribution service agreements that balance access, compliance, financial performance, and patient experience
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in market access, trade, and/or distribution within biopharma
- Strong expertise in specialty distribution channels, including hospital/infusion and specialty pharmacy models
- Experience supporting both medical-benefit and pharmacy-benefit products, ideally within rare disease or specialty therapeutics
- Deep understanding of U.S. reimbursement landscape, including Medicare and government pricing dynamics
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed environment
- Strong analytical skills, with ability to translate data into strategic insights
- Excellent communication skills with experience influencing senior stakeholders
