Role Overview

The company are seeking an experienced Account Manager to take ownership of a key territory in Northern Germany. This role combines the management of an established customer base with a strong focus on identifying and driving new business opportunities.

The successful candidate will operate within hospital and laboratory environments, managing complex sales processes and developing long-term relationships with key clinical stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow existing accounts across hospitals and laboratories within the assigned territory
  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities
  • Take full ownership of the sales cycle, including pipeline management, forecasting, and contract negotiations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including pathologists and laboratory managers
  • Develop and execute territory and account plans to drive revenue growth
  • Deliver solution-based sales in a complex, consultative environment
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs
  • Represent the organisation at customer meetings, industry events, and conferences

Candidate Requirements

Experience & Background

  • Several years of experience in account management / sales within life sciences, medical devices, diagnostics, or a related sector
  • Proven track record in complex, solution-based sales with long sales cycles
  • Experience selling into hospitals, laboratories, or clinical environments is strongly preferred
  • Experience managing large or strategic accounts

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong commercial acumen and results-driven mindset
  • Ability to manage both new business development and existing accounts
  • Proven ability to manage the full sales process independently
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational skills, including pipeline and territory management

  • Confident, proactive, and able to operate autonomously
  • High level of ownership and accountability
  • Resilient and driven, with a focus on achieving targets
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, performance-oriented environment

Additional Requirements

  • Based within the Northern Germany territory (within reasonable commuting distance to Hamburg)
  • Good level of German and good level of English
  • Willingness to travel across the territory
