HVAC / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Facilities
About the Company
Our client is a global leader in facilities management and real estate services. They support some of the world's leading organisations across critical, technical and commercial environments. They're looking for an HVAC / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their on-site engineering team in Dublin. You'll be responsible for keeping the site's HVAC, cooling and mechanical systems reliable, efficient and compliant.
This role would suit engineers with HVAC, mechanical, building services, utilities or facilities maintenance backgrounds. That includes people from pharma, med device, data centre, manufacturing, healthcare or commercial property sites.
The Role
- Deliver high-quality planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems, AHUs, cooling towers and mechanical plant
- Carry out testing, balancing, instrumentation and controls work on AHUs and ventilation plant
- Deliver HVAC installation, refurbishment and upgrade projects on air handling and air conditioning systems
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and repairs, both on your own and as part of a team
- Complete all HVAC and cooling tower PMs and CMs within site KPIs and contract quality standards
- Carry out leak checks on chillers and AC units
- Keep the HVAC system fully running by spotting and fixing potential issues early
- Review plant performance and suggest energy efficiency improvements
- Manage spare parts levels, material orders and maintenance records
- Update and manage changes to the site HVAC and cooling tower maintenance programme alongside the Mechanical Utilities Lead
- Report to the Mechanical Utilities Lead with solutions and recommendations on maintenance issues
- Work closely with other engineering teams and the client on a daily basis to deliver excellent service and meet or exceed client expectations
Essential Requirements
- An Engineering Degree or Level 8 Diploma in Mechanical, Building Services, Electrical or a related engineering discipline
- Hands-on HVAC maintenance experience in a facilities, utilities, engineering or maintenance setting
- Experience with some or all of the following: AHUs, filters, chilled water, LPHW, coils, fans, controls, dampers, actuators, extract systems, VAV, VRV/VRF, split systems, spot cooling and general plumbing
- Able to take ownership of maintenance work and work on your own
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a logical approach to fault-finding
- High accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to prioritise several tasks and work to tight deadlines
- Confident communicator, both written and verbal, who is comfortable working with clients
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CMMS / maintenance management systems
Desirable
- Time served in a mechanical or HVAC trade
- F-Gas qualification
- Experience with cooling towers, water treatment or BMS
- Background in a regulated or critical environment such as GMP/pharma, med device, data centres or healthcare
- Experience working in a multi-skilled engineering team
