Medical Director, Medical Affairs

Location: Morristown, NJ (Hybrid); remote East Coast candidates may be considered

EPM Scientific is partnered with a growing clinical-stage biotech seeking a Medical Director, Medical Affairs to lead medical strategy for novel late-phase therapies targeting serious metabolic and liver diseases. Reporting to the Head of Medical Affairs, this is a high-visibility, foundational role in a fast-paced environment with significant opportunity for growth.

Responsibilities:

• Develop Medical Affairs strategy aligned to clinical and commercial objectives across multiple indications, including MASH, ALD, and AUD
• Build KOL engagement strategy and relationships with thought leaders, investigators, and academic centers
• Lead scientific exchange through advisory boards and congress activities; synthesize insights to inform medical strategy and clinical development planning
• Provide medical input on evidence generation planning, investigator-initiated studies, registries, and publication plans
• Partner with Clinical Development on late-phase trial design and data interpretation
• Translate clinical and real-world data into a compelling scientific narrative; participate in MLR review of medical education and scientific communication materials

Required Skills:

• MD, DO, PharmD, or PhD required; MD/DO with expertise in endocrinology, hepatology, or gastroenterology strongly preferred
• 8+ years of industry experience in Medical Affairs
• MASH/NASH experience strongly preferred
• MLR review/sign-off and product launch experience strongly preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

• Base salary of $240,000-$340,000 commensurate with degree and experience
