Our client, a rapidly growing immunology & rare diseases focused biotech, is seeking a Head of US Medical Affairs to lead and shape their US medical strategy. This is a permanent leadership role in Boston, offering the opportunity to build and steer a high-impact medical affairs function while working closely with cross-functional colleagues to support innovative therapies in immunology.

Role Overview

As Head of US Medical Affairs, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for all US medical affairs activities, partnering with Clinical Development and commercial teams to ensure scientifically robust and patient-focused initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 12-15 years of progressive experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, or related functions within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
  • Advanced degree required; MD, PhD, or PharmD strongly preferred.

Key Skills & Expertise

  • Medical Affairs Leadership - Proven track record of directing medical affairs strategy and execution, including scientific communications and field medical activities.
  • Director-level Strategic Thinking - Ability to operate at a senior leadership level, setting long-term vision while overseeing day-to-day delivery.
  • Pharmaceutical/ Biotech Experience - Deep understanding of the pharma/biotech landscape in the USA, including regulations, compliance, and stakeholder needs.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration - Experience working closely with Clinical Development and other functions to align medical plans with broader business objectives.
  • US Market Expertise - Strong familiarity with US healthcare systems, key opinion leaders, and medical societies relevant to immunology.
