For one of our international clients in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector, we are currently seeking a Head of Quality Control (m/f/d).
The company operates globally with state-of-the-art production facilities and a strong focus on delivering high-quality medicinal products. This role offers an opportunity to lead and shape quality control operations in a highly regulated and modern environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the quality control function, ensuring compliance with applicable GMP, GLP, and regulatory requirements
- Review and approve testing instructions and quality control procedures for raw materials, packaging, intermediates, and finished products
- Ensure the proper sampling, handling, identification, and storage of materials and retention samples
- Oversee the execution of all analytical testing activities, ensuring adherence to established methods and specifications
- Ensure timely communication of critical quality events (e.g., OOS results) to relevant stakeholders
- Lead the validation of analytical methods and ensure appropriate qualification, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Drive the continuous improvement of QC processes using performance indicators and operational data
- Ensure laboratories, equipment, and facilities are maintained in a compliant and inspection-ready state
- Take ownership of training and development of quality control personnel, ensuring adequate qualification levels
- Approve or reject materials based on analytical results and specifications
- Collaborate with external partners, including contract laboratories and suppliers, ensuring qualification and performance monitoring
- Support method development, transfers, and validation activities
- Contribute to audits, inspections, self-inspections, and follow-up actions
- Actively participate in change control, deviation management, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Be involved in team leadership topics, including resource planning and hiring within the QC function
Your Profile
- Degree in a scientific discipline, preferably Pharmacy or a related field
- Several years of experience in pharmaceutical quality control, including leadership exposure
- Strong knowledge of GMP regulations and laboratory compliance standards
- Confident handling of quality systems, audits, and regulatory inspections
- Excellent organizational skills, decision-making ability, and a structured way of working
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Good command of English and German, both written and spoken
- Solid technical understanding of laboratory operations and equipment
