Account Manager | Medical Communications

Our client is seeking an Account Manager to join a growing medical communications agency supporting pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. This individual will serve as a key client partner, leading day-to-day account activities, overseeing project execution, and ensuring the successful delivery of medical communications programs.

The ideal candidate combines strong client service skills with agency experience and is comfortable managing multiple workstreams while collaborating across scientific, editorial, creative, and project management teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary point of contact for client accounts and build lasting client relationships.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of medical communications programs and deliverables.
  • Partner with internal scientific, editorial, creative, and project management teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Provide strategic guidance and proactive recommendations to address client needs and support account objectives.
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, forecasting, resource allocation, and overall account performance.
  • Manage day-to-day client communications and ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Identify opportunities for account growth and support new business initiatives when appropriate.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience in a medical communications, healthcare communications, or life sciences agency environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in client services, account management, or program management.
  • Experience partnering with pharmaceutical or biotechnology clients.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience managing project budgets, scopes of work, and financial tracking.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced agency setting.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting medical affairs, scientific communications, or medical education programs.
  • Exposure to publication planning, congress activities, or scientific exchange initiatives is a plus.
  • Prior mentorship or informal team leadership experience.
  • Experience contributing to account growth and business development initiatives.
