Position Overview
The SVP of Clinical Operations will lead global clinical trial execution across all phases, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and strategic alignment with corporate objectives. This role is pivotal in driving the success of late-stage programs and accelerating timelines for innovative therapies.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
- Define and execute the global clinical operations strategy across multiple therapeutic areas.
- Partner with R&D, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to align operational plans with corporate goals.
- Operational Excellence:
- Oversee planning, initiation, and execution of Phase I-IV clinical trials, including pivotal studies.
- Ensure adherence to GCP, ICH guidelines, and regulatory requirements globally.
- Team Development:
- Lead and mentor a high-performing global clinical operations organization (hundreds of FTEs).
- Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Vendor & Budget Oversight:
- Manage strategic partnerships with CROs and technology vendors.
- Oversee clinical operations budgets exceeding $500M annually.
- Governance & Risk Management:
- Establish governance frameworks for trial oversight, risk mitigation, and quality assurance.
- Represent Clinical Operations in executive leadership forums and external stakeholder meetings.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent strongly preferred).
- 15+ years of experience in clinical operations leadership within biopharma.
- Proven track record of delivering global Phase III programs and regulatory submissions.
- Expertise in operational strategy, resource planning, and vendor management.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
