National Sales Representative
Position Summary
The National Sales Representative - UK is responsible for driving growth and managing Hettich's laboratory equipment business across the United Kingdom. This role focuses on supporting and developing the existing distribution network, collaborating closely with partners to increase sales, engaging directly with end customers, and coordinating service and after‑sales activities. Additionally, the position requires managing projects and tender activities independently across the UK market.
Reporting directly to the Senior Area Sales Manager Central Europe, the role ensures alignment with broader European strategies, pricing policies, and business objectives. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong commercial acumen, cultivate excellent partner and customer relationships, and represent Hettich at key industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
Key Responsibilities
Dealer & Partner Development
- Maintain and expand a strong network of dealers and distribution partners across the UK.
- Drive revenue growth and market share through proactive partner performance management.
- Support partners with sales planning, forecasting, and market development, in collaboration with the Senior Area Sales Manager Central Europe.
End‑Customer Engagement & Market Expansion
- Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers in laboratories, research institutions, industry, and other strategic accounts.
- Identify new business opportunities and implement strategies to expand Hettich's market presence.
- Manage complex sales cycles, tender processes, and project execution independently, ensuring timely completion.
Service & After‑Sales Coordination
- Oversee service and after-sales processes to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and optimise service performance in line with European standards.
Sales Planning, Reporting & Forecasting
- Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance reports to the Senior Area Sales Manager Europe.
- Collaborate with marketing and headquarters to align UK initiatives and events with European strategy.
Market Analysis & Representation
- Track competitor activity, market trends, and customer insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Represent Hettich at trade shows, conferences, and national events, strengthening brand recognition and credibility.
Qualifications
Required
- Education in a technical, scientific, or business field (e.g., Laboratory Technology, Medical Technology, Engineering, Life Sciences, Business with technical focus); equivalent experience also considered.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of B2B sales experience, ideally involving technical or investment goods, with demonstrable success in the UK market.
- Proven experience managing key accounts, distributor networks, and complex sales projects.
- Strong understanding of laboratory workflows and equipment (centrifuges, incubators, refrigeration, etc.).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
- Proficient with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the UK for customer visits, partner meetings, and events.
Preferred
- Experience working with European laboratory equipment manufacturers.
- Familiarity with technical laboratory applications and solution-oriented selling.
- Existing network within UK laboratories, research institutions, diagnostic companies, or the life sciences/pharmaceutical sector.
Responsibilities & Decision-Making
- Full accountability for UK market development, revenue growth, distributor and partner management, and tender/project execution.
- All major strategic activities, pricing, and rebate decisions carried out in close coordination with the Senior Area Sales Manager Central Europe.
- Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, enhance partner performance, and ensure cost-effective market development.
- No direct personnel management responsibilities, but coaching and support of partners may be required.
