Overview
Our client, a leading medical device manufacturer, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the production and ongoing development of a highly innovative endoscopy product line. This position will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations while driving the successful transfer and integration of New Product Development (NPD) activities into production.
The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, NPD, Quality, Automation, Validation, and Operations to ensure efficient product launch activities, process optimisation, and continuous improvement of both automated and manual manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day manufacturing support for the endoscopy production line.
- Lead and support the integration of new products and processes from NPD into manufacturing.
- Drive manufacturing readiness activities during product transfers and process introductions.
- Support the production of complex endoscopy scope products within a regulated medical device environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process, equipment, and production line issues to minimise downtime.
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Automation, and Engineering teams to improve manufacturing performance.
- Support highly automated manufacturing equipment while also optimising manual assembly processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements focused on quality, throughput, yield, and efficiency.
- Develop and update manufacturing documentation including work instructions, SOPs, process flows, and engineering reports.
- Participate in validation activities including IQ, OQ, PQ, and process verification activities as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Assist in capacity planning, line balancing, and manufacturing expansion projects.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with GMP, regulatory, and quality requirements.
