I'm partnering with a leading medical device company who is looking for an experienced Cybersecurity & Data Expert to support ongoing development of their software ecosystem. This role sits within the software development team and plays a key part in ensuring cybersecurity, GDPR compliance, and robust regulatory submissions (MDR, PMA).
What you'll be doing:
- Acting as the subject‑matter expert for cybersecurity and data protection within the software development team.
- Providing expert input into MDR and PMA regulatory submissions, specifically around cybersecurity and data‑related requirements.
- Assessing data flows and defining levels of risk associated with sensitive medical data.
- Reviewing current work, validating approaches, and providing assurance to leadership.
- Taking final decision‑making responsibility on cybersecurity topics, ensuring strategies are compliant, logical, and regulator‑ready.
- Guiding teams on GDPR considerations, encryption, and data‑security best practices.
What they're looking for:
- 10+ years' experience in cybersecurity, data protection, or medical device regulation.
- Mandatory: a strong regulatory background (MDR / PMA or similar high‑scrutiny pathways).
- Expertise in evaluating cybersecurity risks, data sensitivity, and GDPR implications.
- Proven experience as a senior SME capable of reviewing and shaping cybersecurity strategy.
- Preferred: experience with Software as a Medical Device (SaMD).
- Someone confident collaborating with regulatory, software, and QA teams.
