Clinical Support Specialist

Overview:
This role supports organ transplantation by managing advanced organ preservation and transport technology. The position involves hands-on operation of the system during organ retrieval, preservation, and assessment, ensuring optimal conditions for successful transplantation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate organ preservation technology during retrieval, transport, and assessment according to established protocols.
  • Complete comprehensive training and certification across multiple organ platforms (heart, lung, liver).
  • Provide on-call support, including weekends and holidays, with frequent travel to clinical sites.
  • Manage inventory and logistics, including weekly shipments of equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with lab trainings, research activities, and help establish operational launch points.
  • Participate in medical and scientific meetings to stay updated and represent the technology.
  • Communicate real-time updates during cases and provide feedback on system utilization.
  • Prepare and submit post-case documentation, including case reviews and presentations.
  • Deliver customer support such as hospital in-services and refresher training for clinical teams.
  • Maintain annual recertification on all organ platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or science (BSN or BS) with experience in ICU, ECMO, Cath Lab, OR, transplant, or emergency care.
  • Perfusion experience is required for this role.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work on-call, and travel frequently.
  • Compliance with hospital vaccination requirements (e.g., influenza, COVID-19).
