Automation Engineer
As an Automation Engineer, you'll support the performance and evolution of automated production systems across PLC, PCS/DCS, SCADA, HMI, drives, and vision technologies. The role combines day‑to‑day troubleshooting with project work, system upgrades, and GMP‑compliant improvements that keep 24/7 operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve automation issues quickly (PLC, drives, sensors, networks).
- Provide expert support to production and maintenance teams, including occasional on‑call coverage.
- Maintain and update PLC, PCS/DCS, SCADA, HMI, and vision systems.
- Implement automation upgrades and new initiatives aligned with site strategy.
- Write and review technical specifications and functional descriptions.
- Support commissioning and validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ).
- Contribute to CAPEX planning and long‑term automation roadmaps.
- Monitor system performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Propose and deploy new technologies (PLC, HMI, Vision, SCADA, data analytics).
- Act as a technical advisor to production, engineering, QA, and maintenance.
- Train operators and technicians on new systems and updates.
- Manage relationships with automation suppliers and integrators.
- Ensure documentation is accurate, up to date, and compliant.
- Apply GMP, data integrity, validation, and Change Control processes.
- Participate in audits related to automation and computerized systems.
Requirements
- Degree in Industrial Engineering, Automation, Electromechanics, or Industrial Computing.
- Around 5 years of experience in automation within pharma, biotech, chemicals, or industrial manufacturing.
- Strong expertise in Siemens S7, Allen‑Bradley, or equivalent PLC platforms.
- Experience with HMI, SCADA, drives, and ideally vision systems.
- Solid understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, electricity, and mechanical systems.
- Fluent French, with good proficiency in English.
- Analytical mindset, autonomy, flexibility, and strong communication skills
