Job Description
This groundbreaking clinical stage, metabolic oncology biotechnology company located in New Jersey is looking to bring on a Vice President, US Commercial to lead and build out their commercial presence. The company most recently received FDA approval for Phase 3 clinical trials in pancreatic cancer and acute myeloid leukemia. They have selected their orphan drug for the treatment of pancreatic cancer and myelodysplastic syndrome. The company's portfolio expands a upon several products across the hematology and oncology therapy area.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President, US Commercial will create a commercial vision for the therapeutic area of oncology. This individual will closely with the clinical team, from a US commercial perspective to provide in drug development process including clinical trial design, marketing, life cycle management, strategy and product launch.
Position Profile
The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with a proven track record of implementation, execution and team leadership across the oncology therapy area. This individual must have the distinct ability to manage several complex projects, influence stakeholders and senior leaders all within a fast moving, challenging and dynamic start up environment. Additionally, this individual must have a deep understanding of the marketing, sales, launch and development of oncology products.
Essential Duties & Job Functions
-Strategic thinking to allow for identification of future market opportunities, review of the franchise portfolio and prioritization of opportunities for internal research, and external opportunities for potential acquisition or partnering
-Direct the development of disease area strategies for the critical therapeutic areas within the scope of the therapeutic area.
-Manage the development of launch planning for new products including a differentiating strategy, unique branding, compelling positioning, key messaging and the overall commercial launch campaign
-Coordinate and cooperate cross-functionally with R&D, Medical Affairs, Government Affairs, Value and Access, Health Economics and other functions as required to carry out the therapeutic area strategy and ensure strategic solutions carry a cross-functional perspective.
Skills & Experience
-10 plus years' experience with increasing levels of responsibility and working across commercial disciplines in marketing and sales, predominantly in the biopharmaceutical industry. Experience working in a global leadership capacity with a top global pharmaceutical company with a focus on Europe, Japan or other major markets is very much desired.
-Strong strategic thinking using knowledge of economic, financial, market and industry trends to contribute to effective business strategies and tactics.
-Expertise in the field of Oncology with a solid understanding of the epidemiology, humanistic and cultural dynamics in the field.
-An inspiring leader motivating individuals and teams toward higher levels of engagement and performance aligned with the organizations needs and vision.
-Experience in both in-line and global marketing
-Five or more years of experience marketing in the Oncology therapy area
-BA/BS degree required; an MBA and/or advanced scientific or medical degree highly desired
