Upstream Process Development Principal Scientist/AD/Director
Company Summary:
An established biotech company is seeking a skilled and experienced individual from the principal scientist up to director level for cell culture development with viral vector production experience. The ideal candidate will lead a team of scientists responsible for developing AAV cell culture processes, overseeing scale-up operations and tech transfers, and authoring regulatory filing documentation. This position is located in the Greater Boston area. You will play a key role in aiding in the optimization of AAV vectors to produce therapeutic candidates.
The Candidate will be responsible for:
- Designing and carrying out studies to optimize processes and manufacture novel AAV vector therapeutics
- Demonstrating independence in regulatory writing and report generation
- Ensuring cross collaboration among the multidisciplinary teams including supply chain and analytical development teams
- Serve as liaison among manufacturing groups as well as serve as a mentor for junior colleagues
The Upstream Process Development Engineer should have the following qualifications:
- Ph.D. in one of the following disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, etc.) with 6+ years of related industry experience/Master's degree with 10+ years of related industry experience/Bachelor's degree with 14+ years of related industry experience
- Strong expertise in cell culture as it relates to AAV production
- Prior hands-on experience with managing teams and direct reports
- An overall go-getter mindset and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
