The Sr Medical Science Liaison of Oncology is a field-based position and is a key position supporting the business franchises, the sales team and physician relationships for a multinational pharmaceutical company. The position will be responsible for developing strong relationships within the medical/scientific community, providing medical and/or scientific data about the client's products and research to healthcare professionals. Clinical, scientific and technical expertise will be maintained by the Sr MSL through review of scientific literature, attendance at assigned medical meetings and self-learning.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing East Coast territory and associated activities related to marketed and research productions including healthcare provider education on the Company's products and disease awareness by facilitating and maintaining KOL development.
- Performs continual review of medical/scientific literature on the company's and competitors' products and devices.
- Serve as an educator for internal and external stakeholders, providing training regarding relevant diseases, referral patterns, therapeutic options, and product requirements.
- Attend assigned medical and scientific meetings and symposia to: a) maintain awareness of current issues and new data pertaining to assigned products and; b) to communicate scientific information.
- Works cross functionally to ensure successful integration and execution of approved tactics and resources with R&D, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Business Development and the Franchise business leads.
- Serves as a resource and mentor to field team members and will participate in new projects as assigned. May be asked to assist with field ride alongs, assessments of field team members and actively participate in clinical cases as assigned
Qualifications
- Advanced terminal degree in medical/biosciences (e.g M.D., PhD, PharmD).
- Minimum of 3 years MSL experience in oncology.
- Disease state management knowledge preferred.
- Strong broad based scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge as well as excellent presentation and teaching skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate team members
- Established relationships with key opinion leaders in therapeutic area of interest
